BMC Teammachine SLR ONE Disc Road Bike The BMC Teammachine SLR ONE Disc Road Bike has many of the same concepts and technologies as the SLR01, but with a more wallet-friendly price. The layup of the carbon frame offers TCC Race Compliance Level and marries stage-wining speed with enough comfort to endure a three-week Grand Tour. Efficient power transfer is facilitated by the hugely stiff bottom bracket area whilst other areas of the frame allow a controlled level of compliance for seated comfort and performance over longer distances. In addition to stiffness, weight and compliance, its ACE+ design also includes aerodynamics, blending the four elements into a machine that can perform on all parcours. A D-shaped carbon seatpost furthers the bike’s comfort whilst the ICS (Integrated Cockpit System) provides close to the performance of a one-piece design but with far greater ease of adjustment and maintenance. Cables are kept tucked away but won’t require major surgery for alterations to the bike. With a 12-speed cassette and electronic shifting, Shimano’s Ultegra Di2 groupset provides a superlative performance that makes finding the right gear and maintaining the optimum cadence easier than ever. Shifting is fast and accurate, no matter the pressure on the pedals, and the system can be linked to a smartphone or GPS device by Bluetooth to customise some shifting functions and to access extra data. The wide range 11-34 cassette and 52/36 chainset are a great all-round set-up that can tackle any mountain or flat road. Braking from the Ultegra hydraulic discs is equally as impressive, with Servo Wave technology from the mountain bike range improving power and control whilst also increasing pad clearance.
