Rather than being designed to win races, the Specialized S-Works Aethos Disc Road Bike concentrates on offering a rich blend of ride feel, super low weight and bags of style to ensure every ride is fast, controlled and inspiring. This Sigma exclusive build has had every component selected in-store and it's been built up to bring the finest brands together, creating a beautiful bike. 

The frame shuns the harsh lines of aerodynamic kinks and bends and replaces them with traditional round tube sections that ooze class and style. The conventional round tube shape offers the best foundations for increasing stiffness and lowering weight, and when combined with Specialized's finest FACT 12r carbon and a refined layup schedule, a remarkable frame weight of 585 grams (size 56) and superb lateral stiffness is achieved. Moreover, the frame's sophisticated configuration balances this lateral stiffness with vertical compliance across its front and rear, leading to a heightened sensation of balance and poise.

Naturally, the S-Works Aethos scampers eagerly up the most brutal climbs, but this altitude consuming velocity is heightened further by the low rotational weight issued by the Roval Alpinist CLX wheelset and its lightweight full carbon rims. Generous clearance offered by the frameset allows these wheels to be dressed in up to 32mm wide tyres for extra plushness over harsh roads, while a frame geometry borrowed from the brand's Tarmac SL7 race bike positions the rider powerfully over the drivetrain. Supplied with narrower Turbo Cottons in 24mm, a rider and racer favourite, the suppleness and ride feel is unmatched.

A Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 12-speed setup delivers fast, precise gear changes via its semi-wireless electronic format, even when the rider is stomping unapologetically on the pedals. Hydraulic disc brakes deliver confidence-inspiring stopping power and control, even in the wet. 

Handlebar, stem and saddle come courtesy of Tune, creating a sleek aesthetic and the performance attributes to match.
